Poetry Out Loud To Publications / Articles - Poetry Out Loud

Posted 11/4/20

Greetings from the Nebraska Arts Council!

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to share information about the Nebraska Poetry Out Loud (POL) program with you and your networks. POL is a free program, open to all high school students in grades 9-12, including students in homeschool. In short, POL is a national poetry recitation contest where students learn about great poetry while competing for over $50,000 in State and National prizes.

Homeschool groups are welcome to register if they have three or more students and someone designated to manage a small poetry competition between the participating students. If this description fits someone you know, encourage them to register as a homeschool network, here!

Additionally, we have a NEW option for homeschool students to get involved in the POL program as individuals. If you know of just one or two students that wish to participate, the student(s) may register to be a part of a new Unaffiliated Student Program, managed by teachers from the Nebraska English Language Arts Council. If this description fits someone you know, encourage them to register as an individual student, here!

Thursday, November 5, 2020 is the deadline to register for either option. You can learn more about POL at www.poetryoutloud.org or by visiting our website: https://www.artscouncil.nebraska.gov/opportunities/for-educators/poetry-out-loud/

Please reach out to me with any questions you may have!

I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Linda
