Hello Homeschool Community....

I am writing on behalf of local author Teela Mickles and Compassion In Action to share an opportunity to celebrate and honor the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday coming up on Monday, January 21, 2019.

The event is the MLK Day Book Reading at The Bookworm by local author Teela A. Mickles.

Every year, many of us wonder what is an appropriate way to observe this national holiday and honor the legacy of Dr. King. This year, through her book, “What If?”Omaha native Teela Mickles will honor Dr. King by reading a section of her book and contemplating a brighter future for society at large.

Why:

To reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy in the 50th year since his death, and contemplate how his legacy can influence what our community will look like in the next 50 years.

 

Copies of “What If” will be sold for $20.
