Homeschooling ~ an adventure of a lifetime
Keynote Speaker: Jeff Ryan
June 15 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Too often homeschooling is reduced to curriculum, to lists, and assignments. When these are our only "measurements of success," we can lose sight of why we choose to homeschool. Join Jeff Ryan, a seasoned homeschool father of four, to explore the known and unknown pathways, to scale the peaks and trod through the valleys, to learn how you can take on the adventure of a lifetime as you homeschool your children to be what God has called them to be.
Jeff Ryan has been married to his college sweetheart, Tori, for 23 years. They have homeschooled their four children from the very beginning. After a 28 year career as an Air Traffic Controller, he retired and is currently working as an Executive Director at Calvary Community Church in Lincoln, NE. He has tutored six years with Classical Conversations, Challenge Program and loves encouraging homeschool families to pursue their vision and dreams. Most notable is Jeff's love for Christ and his commitment to being a godly husband and father as he guides his family through their homeschooling adventure.

RESPECT Educational Theater
June 15 @ 2:00 - 3:00 pm

Even homeschooled children can encounter bullying.  In fact, many families are choosing homeschooling in order to escape a bullying situation.  In this program, actors interact with the audience throughout the play to educate them on how to recognize bullying behaviors and identify healthy strategies they can use if they are being bullied, or if they see bullying within their friend groups.  Let's ensure our children are aware of the issue and become part of the solution.

This is a collaborative project between Nebraska Homeschool & RESPECT educational theater. RESPECT is a research-based, nonprofit organization that travels across Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota performing plays about violence prevention.  For more information about RESPECT feel free to visit their website at www.respect2all.org.
