Sarpy County Law Academy

for

High School Students

The Sarpy County Attorney’s office, in conjunction with Sarpy County Teen Court, is pleased to present the 2017 Law Academy on Nov. 9th, 14th, 16th, and 21st.

The purpose of the academy is to educate teens about different phases of the judicial system, including hands-on experience participating in Sarpy County Teen Court.

Special guest speakers will address different topics each night so be sure to attend all four dates but you can still attend even if you can only make it to a couple dates. Guest speakers include: Dennis Marks (Public Defender’s Office), Honorable Judge Larry Gendler (Sarpy County Juvenile Judge), Scott Earl (County Attorney’s Office- Criminal Division), Jean Brazda (Victim Witness), and Sue Crawford (Nebraska State Senator).

Participants will participate in Mock Trials, have the opportunity to observe Teen Court in action, and receive prizes!!!

The event is free - the only catch is that space is limited - and we can only accept 50 participants.

If you want to sign up please send an email to [email protected] with your first and last name, email address, school, grade, age, and gender so that we can track statistics. Please pass this along as you see fit and let me know if you have any questions.
