Update on LB155 To Publications / Articles - Update on LB155

Posted 3/17/17

Nebraska Homeschool received this encouraging message from Senator Lydia Brasch (sponsor of LB155):

Thank you for sharing your concerns; I understand and appreciate them.

I have come to the conclusion that I will honor your request and will, therefore, be offering an amendment which clarifies that the bill will apply only to public high schools in Nebraska. Please send out an email explaining this to all the people whom you told to contact me and express their concerns.

Please click here to read the statement of intent of what the amendment will do.

Thank you for all the work you do in helping to raise well educated and good citizens!

Kindest Regards,

Lydia

How We Should Respond

1) Praise and glory to God who touches the hearts and minds of our leaders! "In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water
that he channels toward all who please him."
Proverbs 21:1 (NIV)

2) Plan to attend the Education Committee Hearing in Lincoln, NE on March 20, 2017 at 1:30 pm in State Capitol Building.  We need to continue to represent our interests to the committee so that the amendment is adopted.  If you are unable to attend, please pray for the proceedings on Monday.

3) Thank Senator Brasch for her response.  We need to excercise good judgement here and not overwhelm her email box or phone lines with gratitude.

a) Download/print our SENATOR BRASCH THANK YOU CARD.   Add a personal note and signature.  It might even be nice if the children signed their names - this presents an opportunity for a lesson in civic engagement.

Mail your thank you cards to: Honorable Senator Lydia Brasch

b) If you must call or email, please go through her Legislative Aide, Brett Waite at tel. (402) 471-2728 or email [email protected].

Sincerely,

Kathryn Dillow, President
